Shocked I didn't know that there were so many rust issues on the newer ffrr's, if Pete's car isn't showing any signs of rust then I recon mine will last of ever Very Happy

Did BMW rust proof the cars, or just use a better class of steel?

It is saddening to hear that Ford have dragged the Range Rover down to the level of the Dagenham Dustbin Sad Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Former long term L322 owner, Up/Down graded to a Classic Tractor!

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Tonga Green

Regarding RUST on FFRR both my rear wings on March 2005 model year TD6 are corroding. Under body looks like a rusty can! spent a day with wire brush and Finnegan wax oil to patch up. New Vogue 3ltr ordered for Sept delivery and its first stop will be for wax oyling underbody and cavitys as I intend to run that vehicle for another 10 + years. Why a luxury Marque vehicle can not have under body treatment as standard, to protect from European salted roads is beyond me! Diver Bryn

I had the underside of my 2012 322 waxoyled even though it was not new when I got it, but I'm not sure whether the tailgate cavity was included. There has never been any sign of run-off from the holes in the tailgate, so perhaps not. My last 322 was waxoyled underneath from new and was largely rust-free when I disposed of it 9 years later. The detachable towbar was the exception (the bit that is attached to the armature, not the detachable neck) and I think the paint on it is not great. Only Range Rovers since 1988
