18" wheels with Brembo

Does the flipping-the-caliper-weight around trick work only the comomotive alloys or also LR alloys?

Australia 2008 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Rimini Red

As far as I know you don't have to flip the weight around on the FullFat I thought that was just on the Spert ( but I haven't done it so what do I know ) as for size the Comomotiv are the only 18" that will fit . 2008 MY Supercharged

18" wheels on 2008 TDV8

Hi, can anyone tell me if these 18" wheels will fit a 2008 TDV8 Vogue (for winter tyres)?

No sir they won't! Don't fit over your front brakes... You require at least 19" wheels (if using JLR)

Many thanks Craig.

One sees many 18" wheels being sold as "L322". For the edification of those of us on a steep learning curve - do some models have Brembo calipers and others not?

John.

Yes sir, & too confuse matters more! From circa 2010 the Brembo's grew in size too sir Rolling Eyes

The latter models have their own 19" wheels but thats a whole different story...

So to answer your question Brembo 4 piston callipers were introduced with the SC model in late 2005 then adopted onto the 3.6 TDV8 model in late 2006 sir Thumbs Up

I've been in discussions with Barry at Compmotive. We've come to the conclusion that their wheels would fit the FF with no modification as they don't have the weights the semi skimmed do.

Only the Compmotive ones fit because they have a deeper dish and the spokes are further out the way than normal JLR wheels. Ed

Compomotives definitely fit sir as there are members on here that run them... Wasn't mentioned earlier as they are a lot more money than an old set of early 322 wheels the OP was asking about, Therefore probably irrelevant to this thread Thumbs Up

Componitives will NOT fit cars with the 4.4TDV8 - I tried (friend has a 2008 TDV8 3.6 with these wheels); Front Brembos on the 2012 TDV8 are just too damn big!

Re: 18" wheels on 2008 TDV8

For what it's worth, I am using the rims in the image that Elandri posted on a 2007 TDV8. Only issue that I had was that I had to fit spacers. Couldn't find any decent narrow hub centric ones in my neck of the woods so finally put on 30 mm terra firma spacers. Rims fit fine and having 18 inch tires on are a huge improvement over the 20s for all of the gravel road driving that I do.

What I would like some help on is the threat of bearing failure. Having been warned about the extra loading factor causing this, I still have not managed to find any forum where this has happened to someone. In fact all that I have found so far is the opposite where people have not had any problems.

Has this happened to anyone here ?
