Rear Washer wont stay primed? Here's a fix for £2.75 !

Ok so I know its hardly a massive issue, but I was a little grumpy that having eventually got the rear wiper and washer working and not leaking, the washer wouldn't stay primed, so I bought a new Land Rover one-way valve for £7.99 Confused

And the result..... exactly the same, it wouldn't stay primed, so the wiper was still doing one and a half wash cycles before any sign of water.... Sad

A quick search on the flea bay and I found item number eBay Item No. 261513780860

A 6mm one way valve for £2.75 delivered. The 6mm variant fits perfectly.

Fitted in 5 minutes.

And the result...... perfect Thumbs Up

Stays primed and washes instantly. £2.75 well spent for anyone who has the same irritation Very Happy

Cheers, Jon.

Mine does the same and because of this it has scratched the rear screen. Silly question but where and how do you fit this? Many thanks

Hi, it is a direct replacement for the original one-way valve located a couple of inches from the wiper motor in the water supply hose. You need to remove the interior cover for the wiper motor to get access (see the wiki). The new unit looks like this once installed.
Cheers, Jon.

Would have thought swapping the OEM valve ( in line just before the wiper motor) would have been the right place.

The top internal shroud would need to be removed to access the pipe work and motor . It's easy enough so long as you don't break the plastic tongues that fix the cover to the door
