Just another question. As car is prewired shall i take as granted that microphone wiring runs all the way from head console till back to the trunk or is possible microphone wiring to stop under the center console. Is there any way to check it from the existing wires in truck?

The wiring should all be there, just connect microphone to connector that's behind the overhead console near the interior light, don't do anything in the boot, 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

mjdronfield hi again.Ready to proceed with installation but need a clarification.
Re 54 pin connector all clear and ready.
Where i am confused is what about the other two connectors the black purple and white one
Is the white one connected to the ulf and the black to the bluetooth antenna or these two connectors remain idle and i have to buy a new antenna cable for such a connection?
reason i am asking you is that in have seen in other posts that the white connector,in ulf,has the exact same shape with the black one connected in antenna while mine have different shape.

Thanks

I have this connection for the antenna. It should be there in the car already

I then have the 54 pin connected.

Can't think of any others.

You will have to post some pictures if you want more information so we can see the connectors.

Hi,

To be fair, I don't think it matters which way round the cable goes. One end needs to be on the ulf and the other end goes to the antenna. It just goes from the ulf to the antenna, that's it.

It needs to be the same cable, ulf one end, antenna the other.

I assume that there is only 1 cable in your car. You may find that the connector with the 90 degree bend in it is better on the ulf depending on the space where you mount it.

If you have 2 separate cables, you will just need one. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

You have fitted the microphone into the space opposite the sunroof switch ?

Voice control needs to be enabled on the ulf. I used navcoder to do this. Do a search for navcoder. Not sure if a BMW dealer can do it otherwise. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Good day.Yes microphone fitted. Can it be a defective microphone or any connections problem?I have touched nothing else other than rewiring the 54 pin connector exactly as per chart.
Re voice commands noted and i will have a look for navcoder

Many thanks

I believe there are only 3 wires for the microphone, and 2 of them can be the other way round and it still works....

I'll try and find the PIN numbers. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

These are from the original wiring diagram in RAVE, so will be the OLD PIN numbers, but you can see the wiring setup....

So after the rewire they should be pins 1, 21 and 19.

I swapped 21 and 19 and it still worked.

The info is in the chart on the previous page.

Suppose it could be a faulty mic though......
