How to make sat nav voice louder ? Stop echo on stereo ?

Hi.
The satnav voice seems very quite even when the volume setting shown on the display is set to maximum. Travelling at motorway speeds it's impossible to hear although it does partially mute the radio / CD.
It there a way to increase the volume further ?

Also, it is possible to stop the echo on the speakers ? It sounds really odd especially at low speeds. The effect doesn't seem so bad once there's road, wind and some mechanical noise.

Thanks
David

For sat nav sound level select "set" on home screen, select "Navi Volume" and adjust as you require.

For echo problem, select "DSP" on home screen select "Memo" and then select which audio type you require or select "on/off and switch the DSP function off.
You are probably set on "cathedral" which is has a lot of echo.
With a bit of playing with DSP settings you can set the sound to your requirements manually in the same way as a graphic equaliser.

Thanks for the tips.
I've got the volume of "the voice" as high as the screen setting will allow and using the steering wheel controls does not increase it further. I thought I read whilst browsing the forum that you can somehow increase the volume further using the push buttons on the instruments binnacle, the one that sets the trip and the other one next to it but I can't find that thread again.
The functions on the satnav display do seem to be very dependent on which satnav disc I have installed. I got one disc when I bought the MK4 boot mounted satnav player and I bought what I hope would give me full postcode functionality like a TomTom and they seem to give different functionality.
Neither give the TomTom postcode level of accuracy, you have to know the road name too and out here in the wilds of Suffolk (?) many roads aren't listed on either disc so I have to use the TomTom anyway.

The stereo settings were set to "Jazz club". I'll see if turning of the DSP makes a difference.

Thanks

Postcodes are added to the MK4 discs by way of an "Extra". I have it on my disc and it's as good as Tomtom.
If you require a disc for your car you can get one, with various extras preloaded, from Baris on this forum.
If you ask you can also get a splashscreen of your choice loaded.

It's odd you can't get the volume any higher on the satnav, if I turn mine up to Max it's so loud as to be unusable. Can't help you with that I'm afraid.

@Zambesi - If you have it set to "Jazz Club" perhaps you could ask them to stop playing for a moment while "she" gives you the next instruction...? Laughing Ash

Mine was doing the same as yours, I tried every button I could find to turn her up but nothing worked... I decided there was a fault somewhere..... another reason for changing to the Android setup.... Pete

Thanks for that. I've PM'd Baris to ask about the discs, and await his response This is the one I bought separate to buying the Mk4.

The "label" full 5 or 7 postcode digit postcode functionality by as I said I can usually only input a max of 5 digits and then need to select a road form the list which doesn't always work for Suffolk at least. The disc label also mentions the need for 4-1/00 software to make full use of the DVD functionality but I don't know what my 2002 head unit would be and whether it's possible to upgrade the software ???
I know that I have a TomTom but would like to get the factory fitted SatNav as good as possible
