United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Cairns Blue

'The car does have some outstanding finance to its name but I have spoken with the finance company which has allowed me to sell the car privately. therefore, the buyer of the car can pay the finance company directly with a bank transfer and the car will be HPI clear and the remainder can be paid as cash on collection or a bank transfer to myself.'

Errrrmmm, well perhaps not!

Is the seller Nigerian by any chance???

Paying off the finance company directly and giving the balance (if there is any) to the seller is totally normal practice. WBAC and WWAC etc. do this on almost all of the the newer vehicles they purchase. Much better this way than asking the seller to pay the finance off for you!

Agreed though, caution should always be applied! Thumbs Up 2006 4.2 SC

Yep agree with Skot - perfectly acceptable practice - just be careful and sensible about how you do it if anyone is planning on buying a car this way. - don't do it until you are actually with the car and the seller and have spoken to the finance company yourself to get a settlement figure directly from them - you may need the seller present to confirm his details due to data protection.

If you speak to the finance company yourself they will be able to offer advice about the best way to do it as well, but don't dismiss it as an option - its likely the seller isn't able to finance the settlement without physically selling the car. Current Fleet:-

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Baltic Blue

Just changing tack slightly, why do so many internal photos on the trader or the bay get posted blurred. Having spent many weeks looking fort my FF and recently for a new Corsa for my Son I'm convinced people deliberately post blurred photos to hide true states of the interior.

Immaculate is a strong word in this case! 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

It's not anywhere close to being immaculate. Scratched bumper, gouged actually, swirly paint, kerbed rims. No shots of the interior bar that one blurred photo so probably not "immaculate".

Finance is no issue as SKOT says but the car's a bit of a snotter. Needs at least a couple of grand spending to get it immaculate is you think about it.
Wheel refurb, possibly replacement for the bad one. = £several hundred
Bumper re-paint. = £several hundred
Machine polish. = £ Put your own number here. 600 for a decent detailer making a nice job.

Also, the bit about the last service costing all that money leads me to believe it might have had stuff left until service. Anyone who is happy to drive round with a bumper like that isn't exactly fastidious.

Meh, I'd leave it alone.
