Not so much in it as out of it - started to remove the alternator what a PITA this is turning out to be. Fair credit to those guys that have done it in a few hours Bow down. So far 4h in and have yet to wiggle it out from behind the turbo pipes.

I was thinking originally if the diode pack is goosed then I'd fix it up and put it back in - given this hassle I'm probably going to do a few things whilst the front is in pieces.

Entertaining to say the least - challenge is now to get it done by next weekend ready to take the canoe for a paddle... Ed

^ Laughing After my GB service, checked oil and all good so far (just need to do a long run out not to work and back)

Painted the front sub frame (again Whistle ) and now looking much neater than before Mr. Green

And painted the wheel nuts too as the black paint was out and in the mood ! If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

Finally got everything back together. After dropping a nut and having to take the alternator out again I think I have the knack for it now.

(but don't ask me to do it on yours...) Ed

Stripped, cleaned and replaced seals on the rear calipers, nice even and smooth braking again!

Pulled off the rear door card and sorted the annoying "drrrrrr" when I closed the door.

Took off the (Nokian) winter wheels/tyres and put the summer (AT²) back on. A bit late, maybe, but I’ve been away for 4 weeks … Gosh, I’d forgotten how heavy the wheels and tyres are! Or maybe it’s just me getting old. Older.
While the wheels were off, I checked the discs and pads – dammit, the rear pads will need replacing soon Big Cry It's "bébéchoon", ackcherly, with accents. 'Steve' to my chums.
20 years ownership of Solihull products, ALL GONE NOW, sniff!
Current motor: Suzuki S-Cross 4WD auto, 1.4 petrol. Oh so reliable! 7 years now and no problems. Oh, all right then, a leaking shocker replaced under guarantee.

Swapped the front nearside door lock, it's been lazy and throwing up a fault for ages and I hadn't got round to it, then read what Craig said a few days ago about the fact that if it fails in the dead locked position you have to wreck the door to get it open, and thought I better pull my finger out.... 15mins job done, now nice and fast like the rest of them....

Also fitted one of the later bottom tailgate recessed buttons so it doesn't open every time I lean on it

Door lock was £33 of ebay and genuine button £2.50.... bargains I recon!!!! Pete

United Kingdom 2002 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Barolo Black

1st major job done by myself ( with only minimal help from my personal mechanic aka brother in law ) changed front air bags and shocks on my new L322. 8 days in and £1000 extra spent. £500 for new removeable tow bar, £400 shocks, £100 icarsoft diagnostics.
Oh, but it was a sweet test drive. At the risk of putting the mockers on it, hopefully that will be it for a while. Very Happy
