Any plumbers?

I'm looking to install a shower pump and I've seen one at a good price (£80) which is 1.5 bar rated. The shower that we have currently just runs off the mains water system and is not very powerful. Would this pump be adequate or do I need to go higher?

If your shower is fed directly from the mains via a condensing boiler then no the pump you have highlighted will not be suitable.
That pump is designed to boost both hot and cold water supplies to a shower which derives its pressure from a roofspace mounted cold water storage tank.
What you need is one of these or similar, a bit more expensive but will do the job very well.
If you position this pump correctly you will be able to boost the hot and cold water pressure throughout the house not just the shower.

No, our system isn't a condensing one. It's a hot water cylinder with a tank up in the loft as you stated. It's just not that powerful.

Sorry I assumed when you said the shower was off mains pressure it would be a condensing boiler.
In your case then the pump you have highlighted will be perfectly adequate for you shower. Thumbs Up
The other way to increase the shower pressure is to lift the cold water storage tank in the roof as high as it will go.
Depends on you roofspace height but can do away with the need for a pump.

It's already almost touching the apex inside the loft. I could go about a foot higher but that's it.

For £80, I'll take a punt on that pump I think. It will feed two showers so double bonus.

Upgrade your cylinder to an unvented system. Then you'll have mains pressure hot water.
