Why are you driving in those conditions on summer tyres - never mind without chains? |

there were 6/7mm left on the tyre, initially I didn't intend to drive on those road and didn't expect the road was covered by such thick snow neither, and also I was expecting the RR should be ok for those tarmac road + snow conditions.

with that amount of mm you should be ok on a flat snow covered surface but certainly not for an incline or hill.... ... - .- -.

I think for these conditions, normal AT tyres are not even enough. You really need proper winter tyres with the specific profile and rubber.

For winter conditions you need winter tyres, not Grabber ATs (although chunky tyres are good in fresh snow).

I have driven to the Alps in my old 2002 TD6 and my 2004 V8 and have only ever had M&S tyres on - never had a problem. coped with snow over 30cm deep and got up icy back roads in St Anton. Maybe the electronics were trying to be too clever? (My old girls don't have any of that new-fangled gizmos, just pure British pluck (or stupidity |

It's stupidity. Almost the only cars I see skidding around the ski resorts are British 4x4's on summer tyres. |

x-box, there are some excellent winter tyres in that size, Michelin LATITUDE ALPIN, Pirelli Scorpion Winter, Vredestein WINTRAC XTREME S.
