L322 Remote Locking Problem

Hi Guys,

Battery in my 2004 L322 was left disconnected for 2 months whilst away on business, came back, reconnected and everything was fine apart from remote locking.

Managed to initially get one of the keys working using the sync procedure posted elsewhere at first (even pre sync, the boot open button worked on this key) however after a few days the key will no longer work at all remotely no matter how many times I try the sync procedure, is there anything else I should check? (locking button on dash locks and unlocks fine)

Can you tell me if the procedure posted below is OK or am I doing something wrong

1) Get in and close all doors. Turn ignition on and off quickly and remove the key (all within about 5 seconds).

2) Within 30 seconds of turning the ignition off, while holding down the "unlock" button, press the "lock" button three times. Release the "unlock" button. (You may or may not get the confirmation from the door locks.) Holding the key at your head level provides best results as the key sensor is in the side window pillar.

3) Repeat for each key you want to initialize within 30 seconds after the last one you initialized (if you have more).

4) Right after doing the last key, quickly put the key back in the ignition and turn it on/off again to finalize.

Thanks,

Well, finally managed to fix this, only solution was to hold the key against my chin whilst programming. now both keys are working but the only way I can get the car to unlock is stand by the rear 1/4 panel with key pressed to my chin, not sure why the signal seems so poor now, new batteries in both keys! 2004 4.4 Autobiography - gone

Sounds like you have a reception problem, I'd be inclined to look at the connections to the locking receiver antenna / amplifier. Thumbs Up

Is the battery in the remote nearly dead? May be worth a change - if it was on the way out before you left it for 2 months it might be ? Apologies for the obvious post but sometimes we look past the easy stuff Smile

Cheers
