That's DVB, which is digital TV, not DAB.

Was given a new Discovery Sport as a loaner, very nice but does not feel like a Discovery. Really like the DAB, one station across 120 miles of travel today, excellent. Is there any solution to being able to get DAB on an 08 FFRR. Porsche 993 Targa, Buick Skylark Convertable 1968 |

The last Jaguar X-Types came with DAB as standard. They use the same MOST optic network and the touch screens which are an even older denso design to the FFRR (similar software) support it.

I'll add it to the list of things to do. Might be a while though. |

I'd be very surprised if the DAB unit would be "recognised" by the JLR system. I retrofitted a DAB tuner to my E60 5 series, which was an official option and it took several attempts by the garage to get it coded in.

No i have my doubts too, the X-type uses a slightly earlier version of the JLR system (the X-type was running MOST in 2001, it was the first JLR product to do so) they didn't change the main hardware for the 2008MY. There might have been a software update, which could be the stumbling block on the Range Rover. On the Jaguar Xtype, X150 (XK) and S type the main stumbling block is installing an aerial, but it might be worth a try. If i can find the parts cheaply enough. |

The other option to enable you to get the stations, certainly ones you like consistently across the UK are these after market ones that you tune in through your FM. Any decent discreet ones that anyone has tried and could recommend. You could mount out of sight tuned to the station you like and leave it. Porsche 993 Targa, Buick Skylark Convertable 1968 |

^ that's well documented on here - http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic17064.html?highlight=dab. Mine (and a few others) like the Alpine EZ-DAB, which can connect via the AUX input and also can control iDevices. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
