Scratched mirror outers

The only blemishes on my newly acquired Buckingham Blue 2012 TDV8 are myriad light scratches dulling the plastic mirror outers. Not serious enough to warrant repainting but any suggestions for alternative treatment (t-cut? Coloured polish?) much appreciated.

I used my DA polisher on the housing to the mirrors. It did not get all the scratches out (but I live down a narrow lane with bushes either side and only just enough room for two cars (2 lane road) so it always gets pushed into the hedging. I had some quite deep scratches on mine but the polish brought them back quite well. Ash

Thanks very much for for this. Sorry to be dim but what's a DA polisher- and do you apply ordinary wax?

No worries - DA = Dual Action.

It's a rotating and oscillating polisher (not like the pro's who use a rotary polisher) The DA ones are safe as they don't burn the paint unlike the rotary one sunless you know what you are doing.

I use to machine polish out the scratches and then apply normal wax afterwards.

Check out the detailing threads on ere for more info (via search) or in the wiki (link at the top) Ash
