Windscreen smear from new flat aero wipers

Hi all,

I've just fitted the new aero flat front wiper blades as was recommended on here!

Whilst it's very hard to photograph (but I've tried), the wipers are leaving a smear across the top third of the drivers side of the windscreen. Possibly in the worst place, in the driver's eye line, especially poor in bad driving conditions.

If you open up the full size picture copied in below, you should be able to see the residual marks they leave on the windscreen......

I've taken some silicone spray and WD40 to the hinge mechanism and spring in case it wasn't sitting properly against the windscreen, but to no avail...... Further pics of the wipers below.

It's this section of the wiper that appears to be leaving the smear and not shifting all the water:

Any advice on solutions would be much appreciated

I've still got the old wipers but would be a pain to re-assemble the arms and buy new blades for them too if it can be avoided.

Apart from a good clean of the blades and screen with Windex/alcohol etc. I don't think there is much you can do. It could just be that that part of the blade is damaged and therefore not wiping properly. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I've not noticed with mine, will double check next time they are on.

To be fair, I did think there wasn't much pushing the long side onto the screen.

You could take it off and hold it in a more curved position for a while so it springs more when flat ? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I did notice similar when I first fitted my Aero blades. Gave the blades a good clean and that solved the problem.

If they are band new they could have some leftovers from the manufacturing process on them.

Give them a good wipe and then test. I also think they work better whilst moving rather than still (in the drive) so could be that air pressure against them "pushes" them onto the screen more. Ash
