2018 Range Rover SVAutobiography 5.0 SC V8 Santorini Black

The vast majority of the New CGT is bespoke except things like number plate lights, seat belt buckles (which have a VW badge!) and the 4.0 Audi engine (which is finished by Bentley). I understandthe previous generation was more VW.

As said above, a Bentley is not going to be cheap out of warranty. Labour rates are extremely high and parts are very expensive. The deal may seem good above, but I'd rather buy a 2011 L322 for £30k than a 2005 CGT.

Perhaps you're right. I just wished it somehow had more 'presence'. I want to like it, and it is growing on me, but only slowly. I'm sure it's a fine car though.

Same floorpan still which is basically a VW Phaeton.
Finished by Bentley means adding a bespoke Bentley branded engine cover on the Audi engine.
Great car for sure but not my idea of a proper Bentley.

The torque and HP outputs are entirely different for the Bentley versions of the V8 engine to any other VW group application. The engines are finished and tuned in Crewe.

PS: I cannot see any similarities to the Phaeton so if it enables them to keep the costs down, so be it. If this was a Bentley designed vehicle from the ground up, it would be considerably more expensive.

This was a great thread about the differences between the L322 and L405 by someone who's been a long term owner of both, and now it's gone way off about Censored Phaeton's. Evil or Very Mad

OK maybe worth deleting the Bentley discussion then!

Agree Stan and CSK, need to move this to the Full Fat Bentley website. BTW, good write up CSK, yet to be convinced to switch, but the L405 is kinda growing on me (not literally!) Thumbs Up SDV8 AB MY 2019
