Hoping for some proper advice to my question (another well known forum, nothing but sarcasm - not helpful).

My 2004 4.4 L322 has single electrics which I want to change to twin and 13 pin. My caravan has the Alko ATC which requires the right cabling to take an initial 15 amps. On my P38 I had to take a separate dedicated wire from the battery as the original RR wiring was not capable of taking such a charge. Does anyone know if I have to do the same on my L322 or is the original cabling ok?

Although my L322 tows fine, it's nice to have the peace of mind of ATC that the caravan has as standard.

Not a deffinatley answer I know, but I have just the genuine 13pin wiring kit to mine although have yet to test it on my van with ATC fitted.

I will say the power feeds in the L322 look more heavy duty hanthe P38 ones did.

You have two direct from the battery circuits on the tow socket on an L322, one is fused at 15A and the other is fused at 20A.
The cables are respectively 1.5mm2 and 2.5mm2.
I'm not familiar with the Alko ATC but the charge must use one of these circuits, there aren't any others.
In either case your requirement of 15A is met.
Not a hint of sarcasm either, we can be quite polite over here. Well most of us.

Just read up on the ATC system, clever that, it didn't exist when I pulled caravans.
I am guessing but I suspect it would use the 20A circuit.

What wiring does your van have 13 pin..?

If so then you should just need the lr wiring harness and fag packet module, if you have a gen wiring setup at the moment you should already have the module so will just need the harness. Personally would go with a 13 pin socket setup as its give a good connection, and it contains all the realavent wiring to run the Alko atc. It you have 12n and 12s on your van I would swap them both into a single 13 pin plug, which can be bought with a grommet to accept both cables. It's a bit fiddly though.

With this setup you shouldn't need a separate feed for the atc you will know if it's working right because of the indicator light on the a frame.

It's the setup I have on my 2007, and the atc on my lunar works fine and dandy. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

My van is only 12 months old so has 13 pin. (Works well with the 13 pin conversion I did on my P38). The L322 currently only has 12N - if it's an easy job to turn in to 13 pin then great  Current: 2004 Vogue 4.4 V8 - 2004 Discovery 2

Should be plug and play if your existing wiring is genuine Land Rover.

LR 13 pin parts not too dear. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Only thing to note is I had real problems getting a tow bar wiring loom for my 2003 FF a couple of months ago local dealer said Land Rover don't produce them anymore.

Managed to find one at a Land Rover dealer in Belgium of all places in the end.
