Australia 2008 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Rimini Red

Some early Terrain Response cars had the older style BMW keys but shouldn't show up in an 08 car , one hint to look for was the genuine 08 cars changed from symbols to words on the screen buttons i,e radio , navigation e,t,c

BMW keys don't recharge from the ignition and need the battery replaced every now and then . 2008 MY Supercharged
Rimini Red / Jet
four zone climate
remote park heater
and no ugly kid windows.

Yes it has a terrain response knob on the centre console and the shutters over the cup holders so i know it is a 2007-2009 model

Sounds like you've an after sales key there, bud. As Stan said the early keys have 3 buttons, and only 1 battery, 1 big oval button, which when new reads Land Rover, but they seem to melt with age Shocked . 1 button with an arrow to open the doors and another button to open the boot, with a picture of a saloon car on it????? Wots that all about ? Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

I was going to say that your locking system is from the dark ages, BUT, in light of all the later cars that are getting nicked, with out the key, presumably with the aid of an RF scanner and a computer, maybe you have a safe FFRR Shocked It would suggest to me that it was down graded in the build spec, probably by someone with the power to see in to the future Bow down
I thought that type of central locking control died in the 80's and was only common on French cars, still the system on my Mums old Citroen BX never missed a beat, and they had the car for over 10 years. But I do remember that it was a battery hungry remote, and sometimes would only open the car when it was held within 6" of the sensor, that was the time to change the batteries Very Happy Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... New Batteries fitted today 2016 x2 in each remote they now work at 8' and not the 2' as they did work on, and like your self i prob have a good anti theft key system now, i am now going to find out where and who this FFRR was originally desting for.

No its a ffrr supercharged with 6 speed auto box, running on LPG, emissions so low it failed the MOT and had to be run on petrol to satisfy the MOT machine http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_rolling.gif , lol, it has all the bells and whistles apart from remote cabin heater.

Was only thinking that it might be a Police spec thing, and as far as I'm aware they only used special factory built manual cars.. it will probably turn out to be a demolition expert spec car, no RF to set anything off prematurely Laughing
If you every get to the bottom of the mystery, let me know, I'm intrigued Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

miggit , there never was a manual L322 , all police cars were automatics . Some P38's came as a manual .
As for infra red central locking I still cant find any reference to it , Japan or otherwise . different frequency yes but nothing on infrared .Strange one . 2008 MY Supercharged

Axel Bow down No manual Thumbs Up
IR locking can only be for an RF sensitive set up, ie Quarry, demolition, refinery, you know those places where they take your phone off of you before you enter Shocked Because I can't see any other reason for fitting an IR system, that is technically inferior. IR needs a direct line of sight to function, is impaired by dirt, shorter range and is battery hungry, but, IR is not as easy to hijack, and isn't likely to interfere with radio sensitive equipment. Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer...
