The car you're describing could almost be mine. I have a 2008 TDV8' VSE on 148k miles. I would go for the newer car but keep in mind that at that mileage you should budget for high mileage turbo diesel related repairs and also double the road tax.

What would you consider to be the high mileage related items that are likely to be near end of life on this engine? Turbo's, gearbox, injectors hp pump? Or all of the above?

Yeah all the above, plus bushes, and other suspension parts.

Really depends he much he wants for it..... Personally I would find that way too higher mileage |

If it's been well looked after, high mileage shouldn't detract from a good car. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
