Pretty sure that the dealers have to hook the car up to the on-site diagnostics kit to get it to run the regeneration process...for a charge of course.

That's what I am trying to find out.. How I can do a force regeneration like the dealer would do without having to go on the M4 at 10PM every other week to avoid traffic....or without having to go tooth dealer every two weeks...

you can buy a DPF dongle which in essence momentarily changes the engine tune, you run it with it fitted, it generates a high EGT and burns it off, once its cleaned out the dongle beeps, you remove it and clean is complete.

James, this looks interesting but can you expand on the above please? Does it cause long term issues or damage? MY11 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - "African Queen" |

i believe the mix it gives to achieve the higher egts is not ideal for a long term solution from an engine reliability perspective. i have no evidence to support this. Cheers

Thank you for the information. that could help me for when I can't actually hit the road to clear the dpf. So with this, it sort of force the regeneration without actually having to drive for as per the manual (ie it will clean the dpf while driving in town)? Range Rover Vogue ‘17 TDV6

Half an hour on the motorway late at night once a fortnight is nothing compared to cost of a replacement dpf every few months |

the last time i used one it was an amber DPF light. i drove 300m with it fitted before it beeped to tell me it was cleared. Cheers
