covers

the way i looked at it the powerful covers are 3 times the price of the ones i bought-if i dont like the cheap ones i can bin and go for the more expensive ones-my car is silver[zermatt iirc] it had black coating over the handles and this didnt suit it at all..

I personally can't see the point in putting on handle covers that are painted, especially if your contemplating colour coding the bonnet scuttle, if your going to do that then you might as well save £50 and paint the handles too Razz
Plus I have a hard time with why would you improve the car with the same thing, all be it a different colour, that has already failed? Paint can ware off, and will, just look at your handles Shocked At least mine will look the same in 10 years time Thumbs Up

Try them then comment mate: they are good (and I really do not like aftermarket bits on L322s, so this tells you how good they are)

Getting 4 handles painted (even if you take them off yourself) will cost more than £50 and they will not be smooth (as glass) as these covers.

Why not paint on the original handle, you ask? LR painted them for years with a paint that degrades, so painting over will not help at all?

Replacement ones do last longer than original handles - go figure! l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

verydisco, I couldn't try them even if I wanted to, because the stainless steel covers that I put on will require new handles to be fitted, as there's no way that I can remove them without breaking the handle Wink

As for painting the handles yourself, it is not with in everyone's ability's to perform this task to a good standard, but if you are painting the scuttle, or paying someone else to do it, paint the handles. 500 mls of paint in a rattle can will cover a whole door, not just 4 handles. I would say that 2.5 litres of paint would be enough to respray the whole car, and one of those cans is a fifth.

And if the paint is rough and uneven, you haven't done your prep very well. You have got to sand the old surface flat and smooth before you put the top coat on, and then lacquer, lots of it! And then you have to colour sand and polish with compound before you wax. Not a five minute job granted, but not a bad way to pass a sunny afternoon Thumbs Up

One last though, if some little so and so decides to take key to your handles what will they look like ? Mine will look the same Whistle

Lets face it anything looks better than flaking paint which ever way you do it Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

handle covers

well plumped for the cheapest uk vendor i could find online £21.99 posted-waited till a dry day and fitted-very pleased with them
went for chrome in the end-i didnt use any additional glue etc-if any come loose i will re-attach with something a little more durable..
my theory was that most uk vendors will purchase from china anyway and move on at a hefty margin.

I have had Titanium Silver handle covers from PowerfulUK for nearly a year as replacements for the chrome covers that were on the FF when I bought it. Give the impression of being colour coded but are a similar satin/matt finish to the badges and rear strip rather than a painted high gloss. Just used the 3M tape to stick on and still on nice and firm.
