ELO, interesting group, 7 / 8 very talented chaps, who sound a lot bigger in the studio, than on tour. The main reason for this is they all played more that one instrument, and overlayed multiple tracks to make them selves sound bigger Example how do you make 2 cellos and a violin sound like a whole string section of an orchestra, simple record it 10 times, adding each recording to the first, net result 20 cellos and 10 violins all playing together at the same time instant orchestra in the studio, big headache on tour!

And wot's wrong with starting handles? We wouldn't be bu r'd up by flat batteries for a kick off And there's nothing wrong with a good blanket, very handy on a winters night when the electrics have f u b a r'd them selves and your waiting for the man in the little yellow van. Can also be very handy for an impromptu picnic on the embankment when the cars all hot and bothered. Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

If you had a spacesuit on, and it's full of TETsy flies, and moSquitOEs, and music playing loudly, Indeed a TIESTO song is in the making. Just take a galloping bass line, with a sampled female haunting chorus mixed in, Played over a 'lovers run away adventure' music video, it would indeed be impossible to NOT be dancing around. The Tiesto superstar DJ concerts are huge, worldwide events.

It's one thing using recorded backing music to accompany singers and small bands on tour, it's another thing to use synthesisers for their intended purpose as long as a person is playing it. However, pre-programmed synths replacing a drummer, or bassist is not music at all. It requires no talent and has exactly the same amount of feeling and soul as the computer running it, i.e. none. Modern groups (if you can call them that) with their pre-packaged computer generated backing sounds are no more than karaoke or a CD player. Real bands use real people to play instruments, be they physical or synthesised. So, nothing wrong with synths, as long as they're not played by computers. |

Oi, DJ tetsy fly is only playing a record player, any muppet can do that. All he is doing is mixing parts that real musicians have previously recorded. Yes what he does is very clever, but he ain't no musician, and without them he'd have nothing to mix

This is typical of the music today, another lazy cover version of a 70's classic. |
