So I'm confused Miggit... Is this an issue with "Today's music?" Or been going on for "decades"? |

Not sure if I have done the quote thing correctly. Bonham is a big friend of McCartney. He played drums on an unreleased McCartney song and the difference was amazing. A much better song with him on the drums |

Thats the one David, sounds much better with Bonham, was a documentary about Wings. Only said I am not a fan of the Beatles (apart from Rubber Soul) or McCartney, not era An interesting piece about wings though, Radio 4 yesterday late afternoon |

Craig it's been getting worse for decades, if your making a record, you might employ a real orchestra to back you up, but if you were to take to the road then you'd either be faced with a logistical nightmare or a synth.... Tricky one that, one bloke, crap sound, big saving or true to original sound bus loads of musicians and profit eating expenses. So over the years the music industry has slowly replaced all the talent with synths, and then they started to do this in the recording studios too, just so that it sounds more original when preformed on stage. And has nothing to do with the massive savings made employing only one keyboard player

Maybe that is why bands/singers doing a performance with a big orchestra (my favourite is of course S&M) is usually a big hit. Nothing like a real live orchestra together with a great band/singer. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
