France 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 V8 Stornoway Grey
22" Wheels

I've been looking at buying a 61 reg Vogue SE and have just noticed that since the car was first advertised its 22" fancy diamond cut alloys have disappeared to be replaced by some 20" Autobiography ones which are actually better looking! ... I prefer the smaller wheels but, would there have been any other changes to anything to accommodate the larger wheels? ... dampers and springs stay the same? ... anything else?

New Zealand 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Galway Green

It is possible to do some changes in the software (can't remember exactly which ECU) but I'm pretty sure that wasn't done if the wheel circumference was close enough. It helps getting the speedo as close as possible to being dead on. If you want to be sure you would need to have a dealer or someone with IID/Faultmate or the likes check what values are in the software.

Just test your speedo against a satnav of smartphone with GPS speedo. If they are close enough, don't worry Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I think this thread has already been covered recently, but was the agreed outcome that bigger rims + reduced tyre wall = same overall OD?

If this is so then 20, 21 and 22 rims with correct tyres are all inter-changeable with little or no recalibration.

It may be different if using non-standard/ non LR rims perhaps?

If the wheel OD is unchanged then the rim size/tyre combination is then a mere matter of choice.

Here we are, waiting for grub to be served on Christmas Day and thinking about wheels!!!

Must be time for another pint. Wink

I'd assume that the bigger the rims then the lower profile the tyres to keep the diameter and gearing the same? Got tyres like rubber bands on a BMW Z4 but wouldn't want them on a RR.

This is what it's got now ..... they look ok to me and far preferable to the gypsy caravan blingy 22" ones in its original ad .... have these got a model number? Anyway .... I bought the car!

Wales 2006 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Bonatti Grey

My FF was on 22" wheels when bought (aftermarket, but nice looking), but is now on 20's and rides / handles much better (too many potholes down here in wildest Wales to chance wrecking 22" wheels running on glorified elastic bands!! Thumbs Up 2006 (56 Reg) 4.4 V8 Vogue In Bonatti Grey (Gorgeous!!)
