As you know I sold the defender a few months back but after recent shooting outings I can see sense in having an old Discovery 2 to go shooting in, I've seen a 2000 x reg 4.0 V8 auto ES for sale (as an example), all the toys, I could put some all terrains or mud terrains on it and not have to care if I end up driving through a hedge (yes it did happen and it wasn't my choice) or scraping my alloys in deep mud ruts etc, having wet muddy dogs in the back, other people who are wet and muddy.

As Haylands has shown, L322's are getting into that territory now. Mine is certainly more a work vehicle than a luxury express.

Craig, that's lovely, i remember seeing it in LRO. I'd never want to get it dirty and the dog would fall out the back! Discovery 4 HSE

I had a 200MY 4.0 ES from 6 months old. Ran it for 80,000 miles and dare I say it was faultless, routine servicing and regular trips to the petrol man, really miss it |

I would think a D2 would be cheaper to maintain than an early L322. Sounds like a good idea to me. |
