New Zealand 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Galway Green

I hear you Adam that a L322 even older is still a bit pricy (or crap). I just really don't like the D1 and D2 body shape so I go with Andy, why not a P38 ?? In fact I have looked at them for a short term car if I need one here. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I've seen a few with LPG conversions but no sign of a tank in the boot, where are they hiding them? Discovery 4 HSE

Because they have such a shocking reputation for electronic gremlins which I can live without. I think I'd be too prissy about a RR too. I almost don't want to care too much about it. Discovery 4 HSE

My first V8 D1 was LPG'd. I owned and ran this in Australia in 2009.

The boot space was completely unaffected and the tank sat down in the rear driver's side wheel well behind the wheel and underneath the boot. You could see it poking out underneath the bodywork a little, although it wouldn't have ever harmed the offroad ability.

The filler was behind the same flap as the petrol filler. Tight squeeze in there, but it worked.

If my memory and eyesight serve me correctly, you can just see it behind the rear wheel in the below photo.

Paul,

Thanks for the info on PMs, much more positive than some! Whistle

We could all tell you "what you want to hear" and help you justify what you seem to have decided you want to do, which I presume you perceive as being "more positive".......... or we can each give you an opinion, based on our own view - I think that might be the idea of forums Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I hear everything you say about Defenders, and you've already had one, so appreciate that you've "been there, done that" Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

The problem with the older Land Rovers, all types, is they get a bad rap overall, some were worse than others though. The D2 was not the worst, the FL1 was terrible, and even the L322 which we all love has its problems.

The Defender was very reliable but it was a lot of money tied up and I don't want to go down that route. As it stands this is a project for the next shooting season, now we are in the thick of winter the prices are a bit higher, so I'm starting to build up the knowledge and then make an informed decision.

The "positive" comment was tongue in cheek as I'm sure you realised, but if I bought an old L322 there's bound to be loads of electrical problems with that too, as would a Series 3 Land Rover, or a Discovery2. Swings and roundabouts. Discovery 4 HSE

CEEGEE...dont drag me into it Whistle Thumbs Up

I simply provided Adam the reasons for my purchasing decision and also to commend the excellent guidance given to me on the subject by another member, suggesting he also PM him to discuss the pitfalls / benefits of each model. I regard this member highly for his knowledge / expertise on the subject so thought it wise to pass that on...that's all.

We all have different needs and pocket depths..and in an ideal world i'd green-lane my FF as it is truly an amazing machine off road. Bow down GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus

Si, same colour as my first D1, had it as a company car and couldnt believe they had that as an option in the day.! Only problem I had was the passenger rear window opened on right hand corners, seriously took me 3 months to work out if was my brieffcase ( remember them ) sliding over and hitting the button which was ideally situated for such....... happy days Thumbs Up I dont have any pictures as everything was lost in the great divorce of '95 Rolling with laughter
