Newbie....

Hi,

Just joined the site as seriously considering buying a Range Rover with a budget up to £25k....

Think I'd prefer a Diesel due to running costs, but a Petrol with an LPG conversion is a possibility...

Will need to read up on common faults/problems and hope to contribute to the forum if/when I purchase one...

Would it be advisable to buy a 2005 (O6 MY) 50k Miles TD6 Diesel for £23k as opposed to a 2003 70k 4.4 V8 with LPG conversion for £14k, both with full LRSH....

Aim to keep the car for 3 years....

Welcome to the forum.

I'd go for a facelifted one (06 model) if it was my choice.

But I like Diesel and do 20k miles per year...

Thanks for the welcome & advice folks... Thumbs Up

Going to test-drive a few things this week-end.... So I'll let you know how I get on....

My mate picked up a RRS TDV8 with full HST kit from Shields last Saturday, and the pick up in that is fantastic, such a linear power delivery.... Can't believe 472lb ft.... Bow down

His car is lovely but £36K is just a bit out of my budget....

I know the TDV6 engine is not as good but hey-ho..... Laughing

The TDV6 is a Sport and Discovery engine, the Td6 is a Range Rover engine. Thumbs Up

The Td6 is no racer, but it's a very good car. Smile

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE Supercharged Java Black
Decided

Hi everyone, we've just had a test drive and have decided on getting a used FFRR to replace our current BMW coupe. The Beemer is great, except if it's wet, icy or if there's a pothole or speedbump in the road.

We looked at an X5 but that felt the same as what we've got only further off the ground, Q5 looks like a Nissan according to SWMBO, Q7 is just ugly, Mercedes felt too bling and we're too young to buy a Volvo.

We've asked our local dealer to look out for a 07/57 TDV8 in Black with a light interior, budget upto 35ish. Is there anything to look out for? I know black FFRRs are a bit like Marmite from looking at the forum but the boss wants it in black and I'm too well trained to argue with her.

We were absolutely blown away on the test drive, by far the most amazing car either of us have ever driven.

Just need to wait for the dealer to find one then I'll be a fully fledged FFRR owner - can't wait!!!

I've been looking at the forum for a couple of months now while deciding what to get, really informative, not too serious and hopefully I'll be able to contribute too when the car arrives

Forgot to mention we're after something with a high mileage, we don't drive that many miles so it should even out over a few years

AndyD welcome to the forum - Surrey? Lookers Park Royal is the place, they usually have a good selection of Black or Buckinham Blue (nearly Black Blue)even the occassional Bourneville (Black with a hint of Brown!) FFRR and if they don't have one I'm sure Matt or James will be able to point you towards their another Lookers LR outlet in Battersea.
You can search the whole dealer network from this link to see what is available http://www.usedvehicles.landrover.co.uk/ According to that link there are 21 cars in the UK that meet your requirements! 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes
