I replaced My genuine LR battery with Odyssey PC2150S. A perfect battery for cold climate and a high electricty consumption.

No sir, I don't think ever was an recall on that I Sweden or so I'm told Confused

Edit: Got an answer from LR Sweden now and that q159 was not for my car but for a number of cars produced between specific vin numbers.
You being an experienced professional, will the battery on my link fit in the car Craig? 2010MY TDV8 Vogue Nara bronze / Arabica, Ivory. VW Amarok 2013 180 auto

Thanks for the tip but If the Varta will do the job I don't want to spend the extra money although the Odyssey seems to be top notch Thumbs Up 2010MY TDV8 Vogue Nara bronze / Arabica, Ivory. VW Amarok 2013 180 auto

It should fit, just make sure you have NO WIND when you put the bonnet in access mode and clean out the battery tray area as well. Also dont drop a bolt down there or you may never see it again!

As an aside do you use a block heater or just the park heater? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Just for future reference, Service Action Q159 - the factory recall to correct a software fault and fit a different battery - only applied to the 2010 MY 3.6 TDV8 between VIN LM306631 and VIN LM334416.

That Service Action expired(!) on 30th September 2014 so I'm pleased I discovered last December that the dealer who sold us the car had 'forgotten' to do it! Rolling Eyes

In your climate I'd be tempted to do the Dan method and stick a battery in the spare compartment at the rear as well unless you've had the recall that borks the fbh to only run 15mins Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

with ref to the spare Battery compartment in the rear, where is it? do you have to run all the wiring through from the front battery to put them in parallel or is some of it part wired?

i replaced my 10My 3.6 battery with a Numax Leisure from Tayna 110Ah, 1000MCCA. £75

http://www.tayna.co.uk/Numax-Leisure-Batte...mp;A-7=110

i have run all my LRs on Numax Leisure Batterys for the last 8 years. for the ££ they are great size/capacity and last well. Cheers

James

The spare battery area I refer to in the rear is an area that's been found to take a normal average sized car battery with very little modification.

Basically it involves removing the cubby pocket from the drivers side of the boot floor where the tow arm bits would normally go.

Wiring only needs to be done upto the fuse board in the boot so about 40cm of red and black are needed Smile

Can I ask why you chose a leisure battery instead of a normal battery as iirc leisure batteries aren't suited to vehicle use?? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

So I replaced the battery today, it was tight so I had to rebuild the positive fuse connector to be able to connect the positive clamp due to the oversized battery.
I also fitted a cetek fast connect panel for easy charging and it also has a indicator so it's easy to see when a top up charge is needed without having to open the bonnet, witch is practical for my wife to use when I'm away at work for longer periods.
It's also a good feature to have if the car goes completly power empty when locked and alarm on, just put in the charger and unlock Thumbs Up

thank you will look at info, was thinking smaller battery there that i could put an inline feed on to select when to use it.

the leisure battery will take a harder kicking down on power and will recover. Someone far more knowledgeable than me on the subject suggested the make up of Leisure batterys means they work as std battery too and can take greater discharge.

i run a tractor, 3 x 90s, a 110 on Leisure battery and have done for a considerable period of time. seems to work well for me so made sense to put the RR on one too. Cheers

James
