Gents having used the fabulous write up on here to dismantle my venture cam which was suffering from battery failure I have replaced the batteries with Eneloop battery pack which is exactly the correct size and comes with tails so all you have to do is solder the connections on ten minute job. Plus the batteries discharge at only 10% in the first year if unused. The pack is a bit dearer but well worth it bought from Conrad Electronics |

Not a great pic but you can see the battery pack comes made up correct size bit of solder bit of tape or heat shrink job done and no cutting of cam casing |
