Dan, having dealt with dealers, you'll be lucky to get 5% off retail, but they might program it as part of the installation.
What I meant was you give an excellent discount over the L/R retail price and then L/R gets all the discount back by stinging you to program the discounted part, to make it work! Either way they'll get their pound of flesh, and it's not just L/R doing it. All the manufactures have started to do this, the more everything becomes computer controlled, the less the manufactures worry about discounted after sales spares, because you'll still need a factory computer to enable the part. They'd code spark plugs if they could get away with it, they've already coded fuel injectors, and it's not the stealers to blame, they are just the front men for the manufacturers. Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... sorry for reviving an old thread, but does anyone know if the IID tool can do the software update after swapping from the hitachi to the AMK compressor?
