BONG...Slow down to 30 MPH Suspension Fault

Car dropped to bump stops and Terrain Response / Suspension button lights went off

IID tool says "Cross Articulation Fault" C1A07-62 (no other faults logged )

Turned ignition off and on, all fine / reset ....until i go over 30 MPH then same again.

Any thoughts on what Cross Articulation Fault covers?

Incorrect readings from the height sensors.

Could be an incorrect calibration, or sensor/wiring at fault

Watch the live data as the car goes up and down. They should all move a similar amount, and at the same rate

Check your tyre pressures too, a soft tyre causes the car to lean, and can bring up the same fault

Cheers Mikey...I did adjustments back to my standard height following a green laning day, so wonder if i've up the calibration somehow.

Your issue lies in one of those sensors, or respective wiring. The car thinks there is a 70mm difference across the axle, best part of 3 inches, so the car dumps itself down, effectively in suspension "limp mode"

I done the same with my Disco 3 after playing with the corner heights

Not too sure exactly what the sensors are like but I've messed with my heights loads... at first it was a bit finicky and kept throwing up codes and I came to the conclusion it was because although they have a wide range of movement they usually just move a small amount... I took all the rods off and moved the sensor through it's whole movement numerous times, they certainly had more resistance at the ends of their movement, cleaned the electrical connectors and put them back together and not had a problem since... Might be worth a go....

(I really shouldn't have said that.... you can guess what fault I'm getting tomorrow???!!?!?) Pete

Had a play this evening and all sorted...As Mikey said, the difference between the rear left and rear right seemed to be the issue.

Most height sensors are nothing more than a potentiometer which is a little arm that rubs up and down a carbon track, over the years as the ride height changes, these ware out, quicker now a days with our roads! As they ware out you get false readings from them and the computer overcompensates, until it shuts down, and you get that sinking feeling!
I haven't had to play with these yet but, I imagine that with a multi meter set to ohm's you should be able to see the resistance going up and down smoothly as they are moved, if you don't see a smooth reading from top to bottom of the height sensors travel, I would suspect that it is duff, no more for this coil and destined for the dump!
If you've ever had an old amplifier that crackles when you adjust the volume, that is what the suspension computers listening to, no wonder that it's got it wrong! Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

sorry to highjack the thread but I have an issue with a height sensor ,according to hawkeye rear left sensor not working. Question is it left from drivers seat or left looking from front of car????? have hawkeye diagnostics for l322 td6 in the manchester area ,pm for deatalis.
