First night in our ownership, at the hotel parking we found a mate to park next to.

Felt good to not have to leave EDF all by itself the first night.

They also dress well in black. I like the S/C alloys.

The owner seems to like her new cart, she has never done so many miles per week since she got it. I would say the mileage is at least doubled if not even tripled! We will see where it will be after a year. Hopefully it is a bit of novelty which will settle with time.

With the purchase I got these winters included. But since these are on a non-genuine alloy they will have to go. Size is also wrong, 255/55/19. I can't put these on against my beliefs. But if you look back on my original picture from March 2010, we can see this weel was on. But now with new rubbers, Bridgestone Blizzak
DM-Z3.

The Blizzak DM-Z3 is an excellent winter tyre, but with the size a step too low, these has to go. The search for a proper replacement starts immediately.

i gather the FF sat nav is a bit patchy in Sweden hence the tomtom/garmin jobby.. ... - .- -.

That is called experience, not trusting the FFRR satnav .

Besides what is wrong with having a 3 satnav setup ?? Very common on DP3 vessels to keep them on position in critical jobs .

Anyway, this is a lovely looking FFRR and that is a great gift mate. So what is your gift going to be ???? A 5.0 SC ?? MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I guess you haven't been to Sweden much Man there is a lot of empty space there and a lot of blummin trees so you can't see very far ahead / around MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

I belive the integrated sat-nav systems are mostly patchy overall.

Especially the DVD based systems. Can't belive LR/Navteq don't see this as anything important when the only maintain the maps a few years after end of sale. Meaning the integrated sat-nav is just a big waste on a ten year old vehicle.

But the Garmin is kept, because this updates frequently and we have all POI in there already. I have a long wish list for how technology in general in vehicles should be built to be more up to date and also future proof. But it well not happen because the new car buyer most of the cases only have a few years perspective.

For one of the D2's I have 3 different navigation systems, all serving its own purpose. Our eqvivalent to OS maps in a PC with touch screen on dash, a Garmin and Waze or Here Drive+ in the mobile.

Thinking about a better mounting for EDF as well, we'll see what I come up with

Ah, someone who understands my pain when it comes to JLR navigation systems. The worst bloody nav system for the best 4x4 is a disgrace. Spit on you JLR puh puh puh.

My current systems of choice is the Sygic app (worldwide lifetime updates subscription) that I run on my Galaxy S3 phone and Galaxy Note 10.1. I have a gooseneck that bolts underneath on of the seat rail bolts, holder for the tablet and presto, a 10 inch nav screen with offline maps (up to date TomTom maps !!!). Use it in Malaysia and Singapore and it is near perfect, even in our very new area of the country it works.

Ridiculous to have to do that but since JLR only sells maps for a very limited part of the world (let us take Africa for example, they only have them for bloody South Africa but for the rest of the continent NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO).

Bah bah bah, driewerf bah.

Anyway, I still love the EDF white maiden of the Swedish snow and I hope you have many many good (Swedish) miles in it without issues. I hope to grab a coffee with you next time we are in Sweden (in the hopefully not too distant future to visit our good friends there), hopefully in the Jolly Green Giant MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
