England 2003 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Zambezi Silver
Service time.

After getting my fingers burned last year with the service costs at our local Landrover main dealer I have this year been a little more intrusive as to the price and the service provided.

Now I'm told I can get a "Dealers name" service which would used none genuine, but Landrover approved parts which comes in at £149 for a year 1 and £249 odd for a year 2 service. This is around at least £200 cheaper than last year which it appears I paid someone alot of money to look at my bodywork only to tell me it was ok.

What are peeps thoughts on these?

If I were to buy Oil filter , oil, Rocker filter (TD6) and Air filter I guess I'd not be far off the price allowing for the labour.

Added to which I'm shortly about to go through a procedure that means I won't be jumping 5 bar gates for a couple of weeks I could do without the hastle of DIY, though some may say the dealer tried the very same procedure last year. Shocked 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

Why not use a local Land Rover non franchised specialist? I have my Defender serviced at one who charges £30 an hour labour and somehow can sell me genuine LR parts purchased from the local main dealer cheaper than I can buy them with 15% discount from the same dealership......................... even if they are getting 17.5% discount their margin on parts must be very small. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

If cost is an issue I'd go down the Land Rover specialist (Independant) using genuine parts only too.
Parts quality can be pretty bad sometimes in my experience of other LR models.

There are also Land Rover approved non dealership service outlets (sound confusing?) ie service only outlets that are approved by Land Rover, but I suspect they might be more expensive than straight Indies as they have to meet LR minimum standards to be accredited. Quite a few of the RRSport guys in Surrey seem to use a company called Guava or something similar, but there are a lot of very good non franchise specialists out there (there are some rogues too of course!) 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Indeed Scarey. I was going to sort it myself but for being so busy at the minute and my pending big job shelving a number of projects.

I'll be putting some aside for repairs which if I had have done 2 years back would have paid for the bits that have failed that the warrantee company side swerved Evil or Very Mad 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS
