mettalic creaking grating on turning right from rear

Hi. As it was a nice day I drove with all windows open.

On turning right I could here a metallic rusty noise from I guess the back of car right side.

I fear a diff problem but noise may not actually be that heavy. More like two rusty springs being rubbed together side by side.

Only happens turning to right. Left turn ok but I cannot keep driving routes using left turns only as the fuel costs are too high.

Closing the window help eliminate noise Very Happy

Appreciate any advice thanks.

Does it sound like an old rusty pram? I had this and turned out to be bushes on front of car. Mine too was when I turned right. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

One of The front brake back plates may have come loose I had the same thing and was convinced the noise was coming from the rear turned out the back plate on the front drivers side had come away after the bolt holes had rusted , I cut both sides off and it's been like that for over a year now with no problems

Thank you for the terrific response to this - I would say it is possibly like a rusty pram, a rotational / speed related noise

Thinking about it its almost like someone rubbing a rusty spring against rusty bike spokes as the bike wheel rotates.

I shall try and get some better look at front and rear brakes and bushes when I get a break from full time wife / daughter / work.

Would check all your disc back plates for play, one may have come adrift. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
