a question for those of you that have cornering lights, do you find them distracting?
every time i turn a corner [slow] these things come on and i automatically look at what they are illuminating thus taking my eyes of the road in front..any one have the same problem. ... - .- -.

I don't have those
Did have them on an ausy spec Nissian Patrol, they were the best thing since sliced bread, saved me from may a misshap in the dark, like gate posts and tree stumps. But they were only 21w normal indicator light bulbs, maybe you could try a lesser wattage, and reduce the risk of melting the light fitting too!

i have 35 watt halogens and they are pretty bright so you can imagine the distraction..my thoughts are to disconnect them as i live in lit streets and they are of no use really. ... - .- -.

Have to say Stan I don't have that problem and also I don't know what size the bulbs are but they are bright but I just ignore them

Word of caution, if you disconnect them......... will you not suffer the constant BONG? If you cant get them in a low wattage, can you find the equivalent 24v bulb, that'll dim things down!

Should your eyes not be looking in that direction anyway when cornering? Previous cars:
S-Max 2007-2013 (only diesel I've had, good car but expensive when diesely bits go wrong, so what's the point?)

Quite some time ago I fitted the below LED cornering bulbs in place of the he OE bulbs.

They compliment the colour of the main factory Xenons and also my 'upgraded' 5630 LED sidelight bulbs very well.

They do still provide some cornering light although nowhere near as intense or distracting as the OE sidelight bulbs. Purists might say they are ineffective compared to the OE bulbs and that they are for aesthetic effect only as they do look good

One other benefit I've found with these LED bulbs is that they seem less likely to melt the cornering bulb housing (a known issue on these cars if the steering is left on turn/ lock for a longer period of time) as the 'upgrade' LED bulbs don't seem to generate as much heat.

I don't find the distracting at all and quite helpful in darker areas. In light areas I don't really notice them much .

Maybe I'm not easily distracted  MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

@miggit, disconnecting them wont be a problem as i can switch off the hot/cold monitoring with the iidtool.

@appj62, i should keep my eyes on where i'm going but as said in the first post ,its distracting.

@ryan, i've thought about leds but i fear me looking to see if they are still working.

@eugene, where you live they would be a plus but the streets a journey through are very well lit.



so if i did disconnect them or take them out, any suggestions of what could i replace them wiith, maybe drl's? blues?  ... - .- -.
