Adam, is yours not eligible for the gel battery retrofit from JLR circa 2009 (ish) FF's? Or was that just 3.6 TDV8's?

Sorry couldn't resist, agree it is ridiculous that you have to buy extra tools just to do normal work on a car !!!!

I had to buy a special wrench for one nut on the rear swingarm of the Kawasaki, 28 GBP ex. shipping !!! MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I'd agree with you Eugene, but the S5 comes in a 393mm length and this is too long once you take into account the positive terminal connection which sits down the side of the battery, taking up space. Discovery 4 HSE

It's never been mentioned Craig so I doubt it, was probably for the TDV8s with the FBH battery drain issues. Discovery 4 HSE

Adam, have you been able to determine the max dimensions that do fit, so Stan can put it in the Wiki ?? MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Adam, Is the battery tray that much narrower than the 3.6? Was a squeeze to get the 020 in mine and i had to trim the side flange but it did to in even with the pyro charge. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

A word of warning to anyone looking to swap their battery in their 5.0.

Eurocarparts will tell you that the Bosch S5 will fit, and other members on here have bought one, but the battery tray on the 5.0 is smaller and it won't fit.

You also need to have a set of 5lobe torx security bits if you want to DIY fit as there's a whopping ecu in front of the battery that needs removing before you can lift out the battery.

Was there ever a definitive answer as to whether a 110AH battery can be fitted to the 5.0SC? I've searched all the threads I can find and also the WIKI but can't pin it down.
RRUK says the 5.0 SC battery tray is smaller? Is that a verified fact or just his opinion?

Any help appreciated, thanks
