Kind of a mod & refurb rolled into one. After my front air shock failed at high speed resulting in a tank slapper and almost a kiss with the central reservation I made my mind up that the FF was going to be replaced by a touareg V10. To aid my sale I thought I'd fit the 2009 SC front end that I bought from Googsy on here. I stripped the lights and colour codes them in Bonatti. Oddly I managed to accumulate some 2010 rear lights cheaper than SC ones and that's where it all started.

I bought a complete 2010 bumper, new 2012 black lights, autobiography grille (from Googsy again!), made my own headlamp plugs, new washer bottle, pumps & PDC loom.. The works, determined to get this conversion done in a day and with another offshore trip looming i worked through the night.

Originally I still had my heart set on making nice and selling on, looking over the car it was clear that a bumper only paint job just wouldn't be good enough, the rear arches were starting to rust, carpark dings, chips, peeling clear coat to name a few things that let the car down.

I ended up having a full (roof down) respray, doors stripped, arches were cleaned, stone chipped and wax oiled before paint. Rear window removed prior to paint, bumpers removed and stripped etc. but that's not all, the door pillars were sanded, treated and painted in satin black. To match the lights and grille I had the mirrors, bonnet vent, fog bezels and bumper bar painted in gloss black.

I finished off with gloss black side vents.

Temptation is now to do the wheels... Dare I say the roof? Ohh yes I forgot gloss black RANGE ROVER and VOGUE badges

Watch this space, gloss black can easily get out of hand so I'm going to sleep on it for a few weeks. I've always had a soft spot for the supercharged wheels. They have a bonus of being easy to clean
