My car was up at the dealers for £36k with 46k miles in dec

We buy any car have just valued it at approx £26k ! ..... Worst case scenario there is £10k cost in 9 months

So there you go, would have been cheaper to lease

Although, in reality I reckon my car is still worth maybe 28-30k , and I didn't pay the asking price , so I reckon depreciation is still running at £500 / month.

Lease would have cost me similar and I'd still gave a nice lump of cash sat in the building soc

A quick update with some figures.

Was in my local BMW dealership yesterday and they offered my a PCP deal, zero deposit and £484/month, over 48 months, with a GMFV of £15,750ish.

car was a 520D M sport with some extras giving a total price of just over £39k.
APR is 4.9%

Thoughts?

Bmw are doing 520d SE at approx £220 + vat , 6+23 , 24 month lease , 8k mikes per year at moment .... Look at some of the other lease companies for similar ..... Excess mileage charges are high relative to Audi etc

Not just business, think you can fudge it through if the company pats you a car allowance..... But, usually the lease companies can do similar deals for private

Just add it all up and see what the total price for the term is . Not all lease deals work out, but if you find one with manufacturer support you can get a good one
