A bitter pill Geoff but using the free CAP link below - previously posted by Stan - without putting any optional spec extras into the valuation request, the below image paints a worse picture than you were offered.

I also use the below linked method as a 4 source valuation guide which I take the average of.

2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Java Black

07 plate with 65k on the clock when I bought it for £24,750 traded in with 74k on it (vogue se 3.6 TDV8) for £13,500 22 months later.

Sad really the country has made it pretty hard to run one or unattractive should I say so people don't want them (well they do.....)

Buy a 05 plate model as they are appealing due to cheaper tax.
You can pick one up for around 12k and it will be worth 12k in 2 years time Thumbs Up
No deprecation just running costs.
The way I looked at it was the money sits in the bank not earning much where as if you buy a fullfat for that price you are getting the use of it and will get your money back

Don't see the point of thinking about values, virtually every vehicle you buy will lose money the moment you drive it away from the dealers, I didn't buy mine as an investment but rather to enjoy it for what it is....a terrific car that makes me smile every time I look at it and I can't help but feel pleasure every time I drive it Very Happy Thumbs Up plus it excells at towing my tin tent which was high on my lost of requirements and so far it's been sublime Bow down

Brian, can you expand on the 12k no depreciation issue, I am struggling to see that one. Even if you buy from auctions, cheers Thumbs Up

Not much explaining to do…
Buy private a 2005 range rover for around 12k and sell it down the line for the same price Thumbs Up
Check ebay, autotrader etc rrsports around 2005 where always priced around 14-15k too and prices never dropped much
