Blimey, And we all thought the TD6 had gearbox issues, the S/C seems to be even worse given the speight of gearbox problems that are suddenly popping up. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17 |

I would check your transmission fluid level first before condemning anything. Probably worth doing a transmission fluid and filter change at that mileage anyway. TC problems only usually appear at around 50mph or above when the lock up clutch comes into play. |

My 4.2 does this intermittently, and has done for 45k miles over 2.5 years. I've had the trans fluid done several times and for me the fix is usually an IIDTool gearbox adaption reset, followed by telling the wife to stop driving my FF (or at least driving it like an old dodder).

Clearing the adaptives Stan. The ECU on the 6HP28 learns a driving style and it's this bit that gets cleared. |

Yup that's the one. Engine adaptions is good to clear too after cleaning or replacing sensors or air filters.

Thanks chaps. A friendly dealer has it in overnight for diagnostics. I am braced for their findings... |

Apparently there was a vacuum hose that had come undone. Reconnected and £200 later its fixed by all accounts. If it really is fixed I don't begrudge the £200 given some of the other nightmare scenarios. |
