United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Nara Bronze

Hi all,

Just bought a 2007 Vogue SE TDV8 for my wife. Never had a Range Rover before but I think we're hooked now! The colour is a bit boring - we seem to be going through silver cars as of late - but I like the interior, which is black with what appears to be black piano wood. This TDV8 replaces our beloved Mercedes ML420 which was totaled in a collision with a lorry. My missus quite liked the idea of RR Sport but after test driving both, our Vogue has completely won us over! It has mismatched tyres front and rear (my pet hate) and could benefit from a proper detail inside and out (my OCD kicks in) - both if which I intend to sort out in the next few weeks.

Here's a quick pic of the car shortly after collection:

Hi Alx,

As I'm on the lookout for something similar in the next couple of months would you mind sharing where you bought from (private / indie / franchised), mileage, spec and approx price?

Many thanks

Beau Hi,

The car was from the main dealer. It has 90k on the clock. The spec is Vogue SE, which I believe was highest for that age? Only asking as I'm new to RR. We paid 16.5k.

Hi everyone,

I have just registed and wanted to introduce myself.

I'm currently in the market for a L322 (a 2010 facelift model) as a new 'sensible' car. I'd quite like a supercharged one but, given the number that are around, I imagine that I'll end up with a TDV8 (not that that's a bad thing...). The grey car Gary had for sale looked perfect but I'm guessing I'll have missed out on it Crying or Very sad

In terms of my background, I'm a bit of a petrol head and I come from a family who have owned a lot of Land Rover and I've mucked around with them from an early age. That led to me becoming involved with competitive off roading - I had a 300tdi Defender 90 CSW that ended up getting very modified. I then decided it needed some work and took it off the road for a while. That refit became a rebuild, which then turned into a new build of a spaceframe Land Rover silhoette race car - think Bowler Wildcat with less bodywork, bigger tyres and over 500 bhp Twisted Evil . Unfortunately, life's been rather busy over the last couple of years and the build has stalled a little so this is the current state of it:

I've also got a modified S1 Lotus Elise, which is great fun, although totally differant to anything involving Land Rovers.

Thanks Stan, I've been keeping an eye on autotrader and there are a few well priced examples. The only issue is I'd prefer a clear glass model and I'm not that keen on two tone leather seats....

Wow - that's quite spooky Will - my wife also has a modified S1 Elise which we have here in Italy. Running around 170bhp now. Are you on SELCOC?

Her Landy isn't quite as extreme as yours - see a few posts up - but we're also looking for a TDV8 (or possibly a 4.2 SC) as a sensible car!

Good luck with the search.

Hi Beau - very spooky!!! Your wife's car sounds very nice - 170 bhp makes a great engine. I got a bit carried away when I rebuilt my engine and I now have around 215 bhp. That makes a very fast car! Yes, I'm on SELOC - how about you?

The Defenders look very nice too. I don't think I can really call mine a Defender as, literally, the only Land Rover bits left are about 2 feet of chassis rail, the transfer box (albeit modified), the windscreen frame and Series door bottoms. That's it Laughing I'd love to get another Defender 90 as a run around but, at the moment, I don't think I'd get it past SWMBO (even though she's got a real soft spot for Defenders).

Good luck with your search to!

Yep - there is a big difference between 170 and 200+! Emma's had a Bernard Scouse built 220bhp engine for a few years until the engine let go on track in France Rolling Eyes

Been on SELOC since before it started (!). Used to be quite involved in runs etc but not really been active since our daughter was born 9 years ago Wink

Same username as here.

Cheers
Beau
