SE... isn't that the bottom spec one?

Trouble is everyone is shopping for Vogue's, HSE at the least. You may struggle at 17K. Sorry.

IIRC in 2005 there was SE, HSE, Vogue and for the very very rich special build Autobiographies - I had a TD6 SE from 2003/2005 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Well you learn something new every day. I thought the only SE was the one that had the word 'Vogue' in front of it.
So the basic SE was dropped some time ago then?

It might have been the lowest spec (and mine had no options as I could not afford any) but they wanted for nothing - IIRC a satnav was a £2500 extra on the SE, so I made do with a TomTom (which was probably better anyway!) I saved for 28 years to buy mine and every time I nearly had enough stashed away the price would go up again and take it just out of reach......................... so the SE was just great for me to get into L322 owning. Also I think it was only available with the TD6 engine, will check in my brochures. I remember at the time thinking I was paying a totally stupid price for a car as it cost me £42000 - more than I paid for my house! 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

I think the SE is fine, if you want something basic.

Does one have to wind one's own windows?

Although on the face of it they look the same, the spec difference side by side on paper is massive. The killer for me would be the nasty seats, the foundry finish interiour and the plastic dash etc. That's before all the tech they are missing...

Saying that, I bought my Vogue when it was 5 years old, so I can't exactly lord it over anyone who bought a brand new SE.

This chap has Vogue SE which is better than the Standard Vogue as Mick posted!

I saw one with 50k at Saxton for £21500 so I think £17-18k about right
