2007 L322 gear change problem

Hi, just got a 3.6 TDV8 and the gear change between 1st and 2nd gear is quite harsh. All other gears are perfect. It has 52,000 miles on the clock and has full service history. Has anyone got any suggestions?

Have a search as there is good info on it. There is a gearbox software update which can be done which helps, so will a gearbox oil and filter change.

It is a pretty common complaint. Mine was much better after the fluids swap. But to be honest it seems to be a characteristic of the box. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

It is not the common EDS4 fault but could be. I suggest to get the fault codes read and see if there is anything like the ones mentioned in below post.

As I am heading to france and doing around 1500 miles with tintent I am having the box freshly oiled....also been recommended the Lucas gearbox additive ? Anyone heard its any good....

Garage tell me the box is a little harsh 1-2 in fairness, but they too say the new fluid and software update usually sort it Thumbs Up Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Suggest to just stay with the lifeguard 6 fluid and no additives whatsoever. New fluid and filter always a good idea when the box gets to its mileage limit on fluid change 100k miles. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Driving style can affect changes too. I drive my sc like a mentalist, but when the missus drives it you can feel the gearbox clonk when it's trying to be civilised.
