Corporation tax and Corporate policies query..

Just wondering if any of the knowledgeable folk who frequent this forum would possibly know the answer to this..

Say you are a director and sole owner of a company and the company is doing decently well enough that you would like to reward your staff and give them some perks ( i know this is scandalous in some directors minds Wink ).

Say these would be the examples;

1. A semi decent meal every Friday in the local pub with a drink, say £15-25 max per person

2. Help with the court fees of family court matters.

3. Tea/Milk, Some sweets and breakfast cereals bought for them to have in the office (they are allowed to eat at their desks)

4. Payment towards some non safety footwear that's not company branded (some people buy some right tatty cack shoes IMO!)

There are some things I have forgotten but I'm sure they will come back when my mind is less busy!

My main query is if the above was instigated as policies would they count as deductions on pre tax profits or not? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

1,3 and 4 possible but depends on the justification, if its a legitimate reward / incentive and how they are presented in the accounts - if its a route to claim household expenditure then no chance the IR are aware of sll the tricks and dodges and its not worth it or the penalties. 2 definitely not - it isn't a legitimate business expense 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Would it not count as keeping the employees sweet, the fees aren't massive from what I can see and if it helps reduce some stress on someone then I'm all for it but if they or the company still get taxed on it it kind of negates it Sad Its only a few £££ but at the end of the day for some its nearly a weekly wage. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

There wouldn't be any point - you might as well pay them a higher wage - they will still be taxed and NI on the benefit in kind, plus the extra employers contributions. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Probably better to pay them a dividend based on Company profits. There is a 10% tax payment on dividends up to a max payment value of £31.865.
