Hi all

Looking for help or guidance re the above really....

I've got a 57 plate TDV8. Once i hit about 50mph you can hear a rattle from the drivers side in cabin.

Only does it between 50mph - 85mph ish.

Sounds like a metalic rattle and it's a sporadic noise that doesn't go in time with engine noise / doesn't respond to throttle.

I have no visibly loose panels on the exterior, and the noise sound is loudest when you stick your head close to drivers side / right if steering wheel air vent.

Air con on or off makes no difference.

Nothing much to rattle round there really. sounds external to me almost like the wind is causing it. double check a pillar trim is secure, wipers and scuttle are well fixed and all is well with the wing mirror.

Annoying buzzing in the skoda, swmbo was convinced something terrible was wrong! One of the kids had pushed a biro into the vent and it was slowly being eaten by the fan!

Have you tried it with the window up and down, could it be something in the door?

Basically its trial and error  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks! I agree it's got to be from the wind.

The panels, wipers etc all seem very snug but will double check.

I also though about window up or down, but when I pull it down at 50mph the wind noise is so loud I can't tell if the rattle is still there or not!!

Window winder mechanism? Give it a good snug up against the frame to put a bit of tension into the mechanism. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
