Robert, to be fair to our neighbours on the big island called the United Kingdom. The Netherlands also has quite a bit of regionalism going on. Hollanders (West central) are quite different from Limburgers (South East), Friezen (North), Groningers (North East and most certainly no Frisians), Drenten, Brabanders, Zeeuwen, Oosterlingen etc.

The D-day commemoration last week made me think that we were all happy enough to be British when they were fighting shoulder to shoulder. Probably all proud to be fighting for their regiments be they Scottish or English and proud to be called British soldiers...

My issue with the Nationalists campaign is that they infer that if you aren't in favour of independence, you clearly aren't patriotic!

Have to agree Mick. The only thing they could have done to make that ploy more obvious would have been to send them all a copy of Braveheart! Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I still don't get how anyone can form a considered opinion while a few things remain unconfirmed?

^ indeed. For a party to stand up and say that they can survive on their own they must have worked out that financially it is viable. That would mean they have done a budget, therefore they must have all the figures available. I have not seen any details anywhere that show what spending and revenue would be if we were independant. How can anyone make a decision based on big eck's buzzwords.... Madness.

Contraband, couldn't agree with you more, don't worry about the number plates, I have it on good authority that we will have our own identifying letters like the channel islands, ours will start with NED, I rest my case m'lud

It is a bit funny to think that, while this voting is going on, on this side of the Atlantic, if most people could even FIND it on a map I'd be surprised. To most, Scotland and Ireland are definitely part of England and Wales referrers to big fish. |
