Loss of power when engine is hot

I have a Range Rover '04 TD6. The last week I have had trouble getting the car to accelate to more than 3500 rpm when cold and 2000 rpm when hot which results in topspeed of 60 mph Sad

I have tryed dismounting the Mass Air Flow Sensor but that did not change anything.

Now I have orderet a new fuelfilter and airfilter.

Anyone have any idea what the problem is? Regards,

Peter

I'm no expert but it may be worn pumps or failing injectors. A leak off test on the injectors should let you know if any individual injector is playing up. Plugging in to a Landrover computer should tell you if there is a fuel pressure problem.

I wonder if its being strangled by the EGR coaking up the manifold? A search of BMW forums for the M57 engine may produce users with similar problems in the past.

Just tryed changing the airfilter today. Took it out for a spin. Engine cold max rpm 3500 and after 5 minutes when the engine got warm it changed to max rpm 2000. Just don't get it.

Should I be able to see any OBDII codes when I don't get any faults in the display inside the car? Regards,

Peter

Is it the same in sport mode ? do you have the same problem if you pull over switch off and then start the car again ...?

It is the same in sport mode. Have also tryed turning dsc off.

Today though I got an error in the display for the first time. Fuel injec. system and then 2 min. later the car stopped....of course in the midle of a tunnel Sad After a few minutes I was able to start again and crawl back home. The car is off to the work shop tomorrow... Regards,

Peter
