More problems .... now transmission .((

Hopefully some one will be able to provide a simple solution but i doubt it lol .(,
Ok so I have a 2003 td6 l322, and I've got a issue with my box , basically hot or cold makes no difference , if i engage 1st in the auto box (sport or normal)it wont move just revs, however if i put it manual mode it moves then i can flick it back over to auto and it drives fine until i stop and it goes into 1st then i have to do the same again with going into manual .

any help advice would be great folks .(((

Sounds like a freewheel issue, although must admit I'm not familiar with that 'box. Could be expensive, I'm afraid ... Regards,

As I said over on rangerovers.net, it’s most likely the low clutch sprag that’s gone. http://www.rangerovers.net/forum/6-range-r...post758698

You’re fortunate with the TD6 in that you can manually select 2nd gear from rest. The 5-speed V8 won’t allow you to manually select any forward gear other than 1st when stationary in high range.

needle, not much help but mine does exactly that for about 100yds then engages, I park facing the house and it only seems to happen when I select reverse before D, I will have to have a look as maybe it is missing first and going into second after 100 yds, only when cold Confused
