Removing monitor from headrest

One of my monitors has stopped working so I want to swap with the working one to narrow down the fault. I can't find how to remove the screen from the headrest, can anyone help? Thanks. 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE Java Black

If it's the driver's seat screen it's likely to be the wiring loom in your seat (based on more seat wear) but you are right to check the screen first.

Get your fingers under the plastic screen surround and pull squarely out towards you, not at an angle. The clips are quite strong so you need to give it a determined pull!

That will expose standard cross head screws, undo those, unplug the loom and the screen comes out.

PM me if you're unsure and I'll give you my number and talk you through it Thumbs Up 2006 4.2 SC

Thanks for your reply Skot. Yes it's the driver side and the display corresponds in a vague way to the correct image in a series of vertical bars if you see what I mean, so could well be the wiring.

I tried getting the plastic surround out, but just can't get enough purchase, can barely get my fingernails in, never mind fingers! Will try again, then look for a PM! 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE Java Black

Nope, still can't get the surround out. Tried screwdriver but don't want to prize too hard or will damage the leather and surround. Is there a special tool that's used to remove the surround? Checked the wiring as much as I could underneath seat and all seems good. Thought I'd try swapping the leads in the rear where the video distribution box is, but unfortunately they're slightly different so that was a no go.

Having given up on this for couple of weeks, some imminent grandkid babysitting duties means I'll be refocussing on this at the weekend. I still can't get the Censored bezel off.......I get that you need to pull really hard as skot says, but how do you get a grip of the plastic to do this? Any hints, guys?

Thanks for the suggestion Stan, but actually i tried a couple of thin metal brackets covered in insulating tape to protect the leather, but pulling hard the bezel just bends and they slip out. Leather starting to look a bit scraped now Evil or Very Mad 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE Java Black

if you intend to swap the screens over [to test] how about trying to remove the bezel on the good screen first, if it comes off easier them you might be able to deduce why the faulty one is hard to get off.. ... - .- -.
