I've got my first long drive in it at the weekend to Norfolk so next week I'll do a little comparison summary of the 3.6TDV8 and the 5.0 SC, and also a little bit of 4.2 comparison in there for good measure.

Hi RR,

Could you please share you feedback ("+" & "-") after +6 months of ownership please, I am seriously considering do the same move TDV8 => 5.0 within days... Thumbs Up

Hi very disco, I can't give you the comparison you requested, but ten days ago I took delivery of my 5.0 SC and still have my old 4.4 Vogue. Driving in the same style, I have improved consumption over the vogue, which was respectable at around 21 - 22 mpg, and am getting 23 - 25 depending on road conditions, traffic etc, admittedly most of mine is up and down motorways. The SC does have a six speed gearbox whereas the vogue (2004) has a five speed ZF, that helps of course, and makes a 500rpm difference at 70mph cruising. My view was, this is not a dress rehearsal, and I'd rather regret doing it, than regret NOT doing it.
I certainly have no regrets in the measly ten days I've had it!!
Good luck in your decision making

Thanks Big Mama

I also have a 4.4L Petrol V8 and understand the mpg would really improve over mine (my L322 is fitted with MTR, roof rack, extra lights and protection and even a winch...)

5.0 would replace the TDV8, not the 4.4L - It would be nice to have a petrol only fleet indeed... l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

+1. Go for the 5L Supercharged, you won't regret it. I also had a 2007 TDV8 Vogue, sold it, bought a Sport 3.6 TDV8 sold it and bought the 5L L322 (never liked the Sport much and wanted to go back to a proper Range Rover). I love it and intend to keep it for a while as I don't like the shape of the L405.

New wheels

It's been a while since I modded my SC, it's had colour coded vents, grille and door handles, and some Autobiography vent modifications too.

I've had this itch that needed scratching with the wheels. I'm not prepared to go for after-market wheels, and I didn't want to go for 21" or 22" as the speedo will be slightly out (plus I have 4 new Scorpions in the garage to use) so I have a plan, and it all starts this weekend with a trip up to North Yorkshire.

Hopefully in a couple of weeks it will be ready to reveal a new look, which I hope will add to the mean and moody all black Supercharged presence. Thumbs Up Discovery 4 HSE
