Air Con Pump, removal advice.

I need to replace the air-con pump with a new one on my MY03 TD6 Vogue. Dealer quotes are a joke (pension won't stretch that far and the wife refuses to go on the streets), so going to do it myself.

I have transplanted, rebuilt and repaired plenty of engines over the years, so this does not faze me at all but a little advice from anyone who has done it would be very welcome.

The system has been de-gassed (by the experts) so I am pretty much ready to get on with it.

A couple of questions before I start:

Can the pump be removed from under the vehicle or should I remove the fan and radiator and go in from the front.

Any advice will be appreciated. Thumbs Up

Hi SoggyBottoms, Thanks for the reply.

I did see that in the manual but was hoping that someone had done the job from below the vehicle.

I have had a look from below and can access everything that needs to be undone, just can't be certain that there is enough room to drop the pump ouy.

I removed mine for a rebuild a few months back. (Must rebuild it soon!)
I took mine out from underneath. Only thing I removed was the splash pan.
You can get the hex fixings on the pipes from the top with a couple of long extensions and a flexi head.

If I remember right mate there's a bit of jiggling but it comes out no bother.
