Hi there, I have recently purchased a vogue SE with ivory interior which was a little dirty. I used "Autoglym" leather cleaner which took most of the dirt off & lifted the colour . I then finished with Autoglym leather cream which gave a suppleness to the upholstery & kind of looked as if it had come back to life. I would recomment these products any time. Hope this helps. |

I too can recommend the above products, and if you really want the interior clean, including the door cards and such like, apply the cleaner with your electric toothbrush. Can't believe I've told everyone I've done that

+1 for the Autoglym cleaner and a toothbrush (non-electric coz I'm a luddite)/ soft nailbrush. I had a bottle of Zymol cleaner which was not at all good - that'll teach me for shopping by lable.

The most effective cleaner for leather or textures interior plastics and the like is The Magic sponge , cleans more effectively and with less effort than any other product and because no chemicals are involved apart from water it is completely neutral to your leather so just a light conditioning after is required . Just look for Magic Sponge or melamine foam . 2008 MY Supercharged

The last time we had a similar thread on here, it ended up with someone pointing out that the surface of the leather is effectively sealed, as the dye / colour is painted on, so no amount of conditioning is actually going to do anything as it doesn't reach the leather itself. You can obviously clean the surface though.......

I remember that thread , short answer is that the leather in the Range Rover is not sealed and like any other luxury car needs regular conditioning and care . Sealed or coated leathers can be found in cheeper cars but even then it is slightly porous and will dry and crack eventually if ignored totally . 2008 MY Supercharged

I'd definitely go with the leather is painted. I used to do it when I was in the car game plus the fact of colour uniformity.

Via Detailing World UK forum, have heard a lot of good things about "Dr Leather wipes" and Dr Leather products in general. Not tried them but will soon buy a packet of the said wipes:
